You have read about, and discussed in class, the President Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal Act of 1830. While most historians have seen it as one of the low-points in American history, others have seen it as, perhaps, preventing the wholesale destruction of the eastern Indian tribes. Read the four articles linked and comment on take a stand – was the Indian Removal Act a despicable action taken by greedy people or did it ultimately help Native Americans?
